Wayfarer started as a shared document between a few friends who kept sending each other the same message after every trip: "I wish someone had told me this before I went." So the guides here are written the way we'd actually brief a friend — what's worth the detour, what's overrated, and the one local habit that makes a trip click.

Every guide is written and fact-checked by someone who has actually made the trip — no scraped listicles, no AI-generated itineraries. We'd rather cover a place properly once than cover a thousand places badly, which is why the guide count grows slowly and on purpose.

We'd rather publish 18 guides we've actually used than a thousand we haven't.
